AI Autofill

AI Autofill reads your shipping documents and fills the job for you.

Attach a Bill of Lading, an Air Waybill or a vendor invoice, and AI pulls out the shipper, consignee, ports, vessel, dates, container details and references — then matches them against your own partners, ports and master data. You review what it found and decide what to keep.

  • Less typing — a full B/L takes seconds instead of minutes.

  • Fewer mistakes — values are read from the document, not retyped from it.

  • You stay in control — nothing is written to a job you have not approved, and every change can be undone.

AI Autofill replaces DocuSense, which has been decommissioned. Everything DocuSense did is now here, alongside house-bill creation, vendor invoices and email updates.

Where to find it

Open any ocean or air job. The AI Autofill button sits at the top of the job screen, on the right-hand end of the tab bar — the row that starts Basic Info, Container, Job Estimation.

Click it and you get three ways to work:

Use it when

Quick Actions

The first time you open the panel, a short guided tour walks you through it. You can replay it any time from the Take a tour button in the panel header.

What AI will and will not do

These four rules apply everywhere AI Autofill writes to a job.

  • Fill-only — it never overwrites a field that already has a value. If you typed it, it stays.

  • Confidence floor — anything AI is less than 75% sure of is held back and reported, not guessed.

  • Protected fields — job number, status and financial fields are never touched.

  • Manifest lock — a locked shipment is never written to.

Which documents work

  • Formats — PDF, JPEG, PNG and TIFF.

  • Size — up to 20 MB when you upload in the app, up to 50 MB when you forward by email.

  • Document types — Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, arrival notices, booking confirmations, cargo manifests and vendor invoices.

A clean scan reads better than a photograph of a screen. If a document is unusually dense or poorly scanned, switch the processing mode to High Accuracy — it reads more carefully and takes longer.

Key Points to Remember

  • Always check the extracted values against the document before you accept them.

  • AI never overwrites something you have already filled in.

  • Nothing reaches the job until you approve it — and after you approve it, you can still undo it.

  • Unmatched partners are flagged rather than guessed; you pick the right one or create it.

  • If a field is missing from the result, AI was not confident enough to offer it. Fill it in yourself.
