# Archive and restore a teammate

Use **Archive** when a teammate no longer needs their AI Console seat. Their copilot stops, its state is preserved in an archive, their console access is cut and the seat becomes available for someone else. A company admin can later restore the same teammate and copilot.

## Archive a teammate


1. Open **Settings → Teammates**.
2. Find the teammate in **Your teammates** and choose **Archive**.
3. Read the confirmation and choose **Archive teammate**.
4. Check the card for **Archived**. The box finishes the archive shortly after the seat is disabled.

You cannot archive your own seat from this screen. Another admin must handle your seat so the company keeps a way to restore it.

## Restore a teammate


1. Open the archived teammate’s card and choose **Restore**.
2. Confirm **Restore teammate**. Restoring takes one seat again and brings back that teammate’s preserved copilot.
3. If the company is at its seat limit, archive another seat or ask Fr8Labs to raise the limit, then try again.
