Canada — ACI
Coming soon. Canada ACI is on the roadmap and is not yet available for live filing. This page will be completed when it is.
If you file into Canada, get in touch — customer demand is what sets the order we build these in.
Advance Commercial Information is the Canada Border Services Agency's pre-arrival cargo programme. Carriers and freight forwarders must report cargo to the CBSA before it reaches the border.
Read Customs filing for the flow that will apply.
What it will cover
Type | Full name | For |
|---|---|---|
ACI Air | Advance Commercial Information — Air | Air cargo arriving in Canada |
ACI Ocean | Advance Commercial Information — Ocean | Ocean cargo arriving in Canada |
ACI Highway | Advance Commercial Information — Highway | Cargo crossing the land border |
The card will appear on any shipment discharging in Canada.
Unlike most countries we file, ACI is reported at shipment level rather than per house bill.
What to expect
Canada is the best-covered country on paper — the shipment should answer better than eight in ten fields, because ACI asks mostly for routing, carrier and consignee data that a freight file already holds:
Master bill and house bill
Vessel and voyage, for ocean
Port of loading and port of discharge
Consignee
The remainder is your carrier code and CBSA registration.
