Cloudflare & Google DNS vs Your Telco’s DNS: What’s the Difference?
🌐 Why Use Cloudflare DNS (Primary) & Google DNS (Secondary)?
By default, your internet connection uses the DNS provided by your telco (internet provider). While this usually works, it can sometimes be:
Slower during peak hours
Less reliable
Misrouting certain websites
Blocking domains unintentionally
To improve stability and login reliability, we recommend using:
Primary DNS: Cloudflare (1.1.1.1)
Secondary DNS: Google (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4)
These are free, public, and globally optimized DNS services.
🔍 Comparison
Your Telco’s Default DNS | Cloudflare DNS (Primary) | Google DNS (Secondary) |
|---|---|---|
Performance depends on ISP load | One of the fastest DNS services globally | Highly stable global infrastructure |
May misroute or block certain domains | Neutral and consistent routing | Neutral and consistent routing |
Security varies by provider | Strong privacy-first DNS with DNSSEC support | Protection against spoofing & cache poisoning |
Basic functionality | Optimized for speed & privacy | Optimized for reliability |
🚀 Why It Matters for Fr8Labs
Sometimes telco DNS servers:
Do not correctly resolve Fr8Labs login domains
Cache outdated routing information
Take longer to update DNS records
This may cause:
Login page not loading
“Site cannot be reached” errors
Intermittent connection issues
Using Cloudflare as primary and Google as backup ensures your browser always finds the correct path to the Fr8Labs platform.
🔧 Recommended Setup
Primary DNS:
1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare)
Secondary DNS:
8.8.8.8 (Google) Optional secondary: 8.8.4.4

💡 Alternative: Set DNS at Network Level (Recommended for Office)
For best stability across all applications (not just Chrome), configure DNS at:
Router level
Windows network adapter settings
Mac network settings
Set:
Primary: 1.1.1.1
Secondary: 8.8.8.8
This ensures all devices in the office use optimized DNS.
