Create house bills from one document
One document often contains every house bill on a consolidation. Autofill HBLs (ocean) and Autofill HAWBs (air) read it once and create them all.

Autofill HBLs
How to use it
Open the job and click the AI Autofill button at the top of the job screen.
On the Quick Actions tab, click Autofill HBLs (or Autofill HAWBs on an air job).
Drop the document in and click Start Extraction.
Minimise the window if you like — a progress widget shows what stage AI has reached: analysing pages, identifying house bills, reading details, resolving entities, compiling results.
When it finishes, a review modal lists every house bill AI found.

Extracting house bill data
The review
Each house bill AI found is listed with the values read for it. Check them against the document, then create the ones you want.
Partners, ports and vessels are matched to your master data, the same as anywhere else.
Review extracted values and applied defaults separately. A field that is not confidently extracted may be empty, while a field omitted from the document can receive the defaults used during manual creation.
You are not obliged to take all of them — create the ones that are right.

House bills found in the document
Customer, Bill To and missing-field defaults
For ocean HBL creation, Customer and Bill To can be populated from the document's Actual Shipper, subject to your company's Ocean Export/Ocean Import default settings. Review both parties before creating the HBL; the correct shipper is not automatically the intended billing party in every arrangement.
Fields omitted from the source document can fall back to the same predefined defaults used during manual creation. Check those values against the intended job, rather than assuming that every populated value was read from the uploaded document.
Company administrators manage these settings in AI Autofill Settings → Settings. See AI Autofill Administration.
Key Points to Remember
One document in, many house bills out — this is for consolidations, not for single-house shipments.
Extraction runs in the background; you can carry on working while it does.
Check the house bill numbers first. If AI split a document into the wrong number of house bills, everything downstream will be wrong.
You can also do this by email — see Update a job by email.

Duplicate booking numbers in email extraction
Email extraction rejects a house bill when its booking number already exists within the same shipment. If a duplicate error appears, check the existing house bills before resending the email. Correct an incorrectly extracted booking number against the source document; do not change a valid number merely to bypass the duplicate check.
