Customizing FMS
In Fr8Labs FMS, almost every listing page (e.g., Quotations, Shipments) is designed to be flexible so each user can organise data in the way that best suits their work.
Video Walkthrough — Customising Your List View
Watch the walkthrough below to see how to show and hide columns, save a Custom View, and filter directly from column headers — all in under 60 seconds.

Each of these features is covered in detail in the sections below.
Adjusting Column Width
You can resize any column by dragging its border left or right.
This is useful when some fields (like job number or customer name) need more space, while others (like status codes) can be narrower.

Reordering Columns
Columns can be rearranged by dragging and dropping them into a new sequence.
For example, you may want "Customer Name" at the start of the table, or "ETA" closer to the left for easier visibility.

Showing or Hiding Columns
Each table has a menu (three dots (…) on the column header) and select Choose Columns.
From there, you can choose which columns you want displayed.
This prevents the page from feeling cluttered with too much data.

Saving Custom Views
Click on New Custom View at the top of the table to create a new custom view.
After adjusting columns, click on Save Views at the top to save the layout for your custom view.

Create & Save New Custom View
Custom views can be Duplicated, Renamed, or Deleted by clicking on the three dots (…) next to the custom view.

Three Dots Options Menu on Custom View
Views can be set up for different needs, for example:
Sales View: focuses on Quote Status, Customer, and Value.
Operations View: focuses on Job Number, ETD, ETA, Carrier.
Finance View: focuses on Invoice Number, Converted Status, Amount.
Filter Individual Column Values Directly from the Table Header

Individual Filters on Column
In addition to using the main filter panel, each list view (such as Shipment or Quotation) also provides column-level filters — allowing you to refine your data instantly, without opening additional menus.
These filters appear at the top of each column, directly below the column name. They function as mini search boxes or dropdowns for quick filtering of specific fields.
How It Works
Hover over the column header (e.g., Customer, Shipment Type, Status, Date).
You'll see a filter field appear below the column title.
Enter or select a value:
Text Columns: Type part of the text (e.g., typing "Maersk" in the Customer column will instantly show all rows with that customer name).
Dropdown Columns: Select from available options (e.g., choosing "Draft" under the Status column will only show draft records).
Date Columns: Choose a specific date or range (e.g., all shipments created in October 2025).
The system will automatically refresh the table and display only matching records — no need to click "Apply."
You can use multiple column filters together to cross-filter results (e.g., Shipment Type = Ocean AND Status = Draft AND Customer = Maersk).
Benefits
Enables quick, inline filtering without navigating away from your page.
Ideal for temporary, ad-hoc searches when you don't want to modify your saved custom view.
Allows layered filtering — combining both the main filter panel and column-level filters for more precise results.
User-Level Preferences
These saved views are stored per user.
This means:
Each user can configure their own preferred table setup.
Your layout will not affect how other team members see their screens.
Saved custom view will remain even after switching tabs or logging out.
📌 Pin Custom Views to Sidebar (Private vs Public)
Once you've created a Custom View, you can pin it to your sidebar so it becomes a one-click shortcut.
This is useful when you frequently filter jobs the same way (e.g., FCL only, LCL only, Air only, or a specific customer/team workflow).
Step-by-step: Create a reusable filtered view (example: FCL jobs)
You can do this from All Jobs, Ocean Import, Ocean Export, or any list screen — the process is the same.
Apply your filter
Example: Filter
Shipping Mode = FCL
(Optional but recommended) Adjust your columns
Drag and drop columns to reorder
Hide columns you don't need
Pin key columns to the left
Remove the Creation Date filter (important)
Once you've applied a specific filter (like Shipping Mode = FCL), you can safely remove the default Creation Date filter.
This helps you search across longer time periods without manually changing the date every time.
✅ Why does Creation Date exist by default? To protect system performance. Loading full history for everyone by default can overload the server. Custom Views let you control this safely.
Save the Custom View
Click New Custom View
Give it a clear name (e.g.,
FCL Jobs)Save
Now every time you load that view, fr8Labs will apply the same filters and columns automatically.
Pin to Sidebar (so you and your team can access it instantly)
After saving your Custom View:
Click Pin to Sidebar
Choose one of the following:
✅ Private Pin (Only You)
Visible only to your own account
Useful for personal workflows
✅ Public Pin (Shared With Team)
Visible to everyone in your company
Best for standard operational views like:
FCL JobsLCL JobsPending ClearanceOutstanding InvoicesJobs Missing Documents
Once pinned, your team can access it directly from the sidebar without rebuilding filters
Watch the video guide below to see the full process in action.

Best Practices (to avoid messy teams)
✅ Use Public Pins only for standard company workflows ✅ Keep naming consistent (FCL Jobs, LCL Jobs, Air Shipments, etc.) ✅ Avoid creating dozens of public views — keep it tight and operational ✅ If you need a niche filter, pin privately instead
