Inventory Summary

The Inventory Summary gives warehouse and operations teams a consolidated view of stock levels across all warehouses and customers. It is the primary place to check available balances, reconcile inbound vs outbound movements, and verify if inventory is sufficient before dispatch.

You can access Inventory Summary from Warehouse Management → Inventory Summary in the left-sidebar.

Filters & Search Options

  • Warehouse – filter by a specific warehouse or location hierarchy (e.g., Parent Warehouse, Floor, Rack).

  • Customer – show stock owned by a particular customer.

  • Item – search by item code, description, or brand.

  • Date Range – (if enabled) see inventory movements within a defined period.

What You See

Each row in the Inventory Summary corresponds to an item in a warehouse, and displays:

  • Item Code & Description – as defined in Item Master.

  • Warehouse – warehouse/location where stock is held.

  • Customer – owner of the goods (if applicable).

  • Total In (GR) – total received quantities.

  • Total Out (GI) – total issued quantities.

  • Balance – remaining stock after ins and outs.

  • Unit of Measure – UoM used for the item (e.g., PCS, CARTON, PALLET).

  • Batch / Lot / Expiry – if applicable, to track aging or perishable stock.

How It Works

  • Goods Received (GR) increase the balance.

  • Goods Issuance (GI) decrease the balance.

  • Warehouse Transfers move stock between warehouses; balances decrease in the source and increase in the target.

  • Inventory summary currently does not auto-calculate FIFO/aging, but provides the raw movement data needed for reconciliation.

FIFO/aging is in the development pipeline.

Best Practices

  • Run Inventory Summary checks daily or weekly to spot discrepancies early.

  • Use Customer filter when sharing reports externally, so customers only see their own stock.

  • Combine with Item Movement for a detailed audit trail of each transaction.

  • For perishable or regulated stock, include Batch, Lot, and Expiry Date in your reporting.
