Malaysia — K1
Coming soon. The Malaysia K1 filing is built and is being tested with MoveNet. It is not yet available for live filing, and this page will be completed when it is.
If you file into Malaysia and want to be among the first tenants on it, get in touch.
The K1 is Malaysia's import declaration, filed through MoveNet for cargo arriving in the country.
Read Customs filing for the flow that will apply.
What it will cover
When the card appears | On any shipment discharging in Malaysia |
What you file | One K1 declaration per house bill |
Direction | Imports only |
What to expect
Malaysia asks for more from the operator than any other country we file. The shipment answers under three in ten fields — a K1 carries declaration, party, charge and valuation detail that a freight file simply does not hold.
Expect to supply:
Declaration identity — document number, submit date, import date, transaction type, type of shipment
Customs station, terminal operator, transport mode and arrival date
Cargo — gross weight and unit, volume and unit, packages, package type, packing material, cargo class, goods description and marks
Commercial detail — invoice number and date, Incoterm, invoice amount and currency, exchange rate, port charges, freight rate and basis, insurance rate and basis, other charges
Parties in full — shipper and consignee each need name, organisation type, registration number, two address lines and country
The declarant — name, company, agent code, IC number, designation and department
The declaration is per house bill, and none of it is carried between house bills: K1 party, declaration and charge facts genuinely differ per consignment, so nothing is copied across on your behalf.
Why it is not live yet
The wire contract with MoveNet is mapped and enforced on both sides, and authentication against their test environment is working. What is not yet settled is MoveNet's own handling of a complete declaration, their reference-code tables, and the status contract for a filed K1. We are working through those with them.
We will not switch a customer on to file real declarations until a K1 has been accepted end to end.
