Navigation & Customisation

The left-sidebar is your central navigation around all Fr8labs systems. The modules you see depend on your user permissions and your company’s set up, so you may not see everything in your own account. The left-sidebar is arranged to follow the natural workflow of a freight forwarding company, so that teams can “work down the list” step by step. From Sales, to Bookings, Shipments, etc.

To create or refine a report in plain English, use the AI Analytics Assistant guide. Dashboard viewing access does not by itself grant editor access.

The pages and controls available to you depend on your company's setup and your permissions.

Choose how links open

Open User Profile → Preferences → Link Navigation Behavior to choose whether links open in the same tab or a new tab. Choose the behaviour that fits how you compare shipments, invoices, and other records.

Workflow

The Workflow page functions as a task‑management hub that consolidates unlinked emails, open quotations and bookings into a single, scrollable board. It uses a Kanban‑style layout with columns for each object type.

Kanban Board

Kanban Board

Unlinked Emails – This column lists inbound emails that haven’t yet been linked to a transaction in Fr8Labs.  Each card shows the email subject, a snippet of its content, the time it was received and tags indicating which user it pertains to. The Sync Email button at the top allows the user to fetch new emails from the mail server.

By presenting unlinked emails alongside operational tasks, users can quickly categorise correspondence and create follow‑up actions without leaving the workflow board.

Quotation – Cards in this column represent quotations awaiting action.  Each card displays a due date (highlighted in green or red if overdue), shipping mode (e.g. Ocean export – FCL), quotation number, the number of partner rates already added and key job details like origin and destination ports.  A status chip such as Approved or Overdue provides a quick assessment of each quote’s state

This helps sales teams track outstanding quotes, ensuring they are approved and converted to jobsheets in a timely manner.

Booking – This section lists active bookings that require attention.  Cards show the booking number, service type (e.g. Ocean export), the origin and destination, and small badges that likely denote the responsible branch or staff member

Users can scroll through bookings and click into any card to open the associated record.  Keeping bookings visible on the workflow board allows operations staff to monitor upcoming shipments and follow up on incomplete bookings.

Each column has its own Sync Changes button to refresh data, and the board itself has vertical scrollbars for navigating large numbers of items, making it easy to manage high volumes of tasks.  By bringing together emails, quotations and bookings, the workflow page helps users prioritise work, avoid missing critical actions and maintain a smooth hand‑off between sales and operations teams.
