User Permission Reference

This document is a reference for role-based permission keys in Fr8Labs Core FMS. It exists so that anyone configuring roles (support, onboarding, ops leads, or engineers) can look up exactly what a permission does, whether it requires a licensed module, and whether granting it has a counter-intuitive (inverted) effect. The available catalog depends on the deployed version and tenant configuration. Check the current role editor when assigning permissions; the module counts below describe the original reference tables, with later additions listed separately.

Permissions marked 🆕 are newly added to the catalog (Cost visibility module).

Legend

Field	Meaning
inverted	`true` = granting this permission removes or restricts capability instead of adding it — the opposite of how every other permission behaves. This is a trap for admins who assume "granting = adding access." Any inverted permission is flagged inline with a ⚠️ warning and listed again at the end of this document.
license	`true` = the permission is tied to a licensed module. Granting it on a tenant that has not licensed that module does nothing — it's a no-op until the module is licensed.
class	`menu` = gates visibility of a page/menu item only. `action` = gates a specific action or button. `data` = gates visibility of specific data/fields (e.g. cost columns). `admin` = an administrative capability. `license` = tied to a licensed module (see license flag).

Permissions With Non-Standard Behavior

Inverted permissions (granting REMOVES capability)

⚠️ These 4 permissions behave backwards from every other permission in the system. Assigning them to a role does not add access — it takes access away. Double-check any role that has one of these before assuming it's a mistake in the role config.

Without the applicable operator-change permission, the User Operator modal is hidden or read-only. Viewing shipment details does not itself grant access to all lookup lists: a dropdown can be empty or disabled when the user lacks its corresponding LIST permission. Review the relevant permission rather than granting unrelated access.

Deployment-specific permission additions

INVOICE_PRINT_POST — the AGL release introduces this permission for invoice printing/posting, assignable at role or user level. Check whether it is available in the intended tenant; do not treat it as a universal replacement for the existing invoice permissions.
ACCOUNTING_MERGED_DOCUMENT and NOMINATION_APPROVE — restored to the permission catalog in the referenced hotfix release. If a required key is missing from the current role editor, ask the Core team to confirm the deployed catalog rather than substituting a broader role.
